What sets you apart from other chiropractors?

I'll happily take the time to educate you because understanding the treatments I'll perform and what's happening with your body will help you get better in a shorter amount of time. I'm proud that my patients are loyal and that they confidently refer family and friends. I attribute that not only to the quality of care I give, but also to the relationship I forge with each and every patient. I book 1 patient at a time, and when it's time for your appointment you'll get my undivided attention. A new trend with medical doctors is that they offer concierge care. The patient pays over $1,000 in exchange for increased time & more accessibility to their doctor. At Back In Balance, you'll get concierge care without the cost.

How long do you spend with patients on each visit?

Depending on the number of treatments you receive in addition to the adjustment, treatment times range from about 30-minutes to 45-minutes. A complaint I've heard from patients who come in dissatisfied with other experiences is, "I left the last chiropractor because I felt like a number. I always felt like he/she was rushing to the next patient and didn't really care about me." Customer service is of the utmost importance, so my goal is to give you exceptional care and to always make you feel important and valued.

How many visits will I need, and will I have to receive treatment forever?

Most patients notice improvement within 2-4 visits. At that time you'll begin receiving treatment less often. I'll continue to decrease treatment frequency so there are longer gaps of time between your visits. I want patients to seek my treatment because they know they'll feel better afterward, NOT because I'm forcing them to adhere to a strict schedule. Once you're feeling better, you can choose to get treatment whenever you need it.

Can I see an acupuncturist, massage therapist, Medical doctor or physical therapist as well as you?

Yes. I believe that healthcare providers should work together to help patients reach maximum benefit. I don't feel that any one treatment is the answer. I'll support your healthcare team and give you treatment that complements the care you're already receiving.

What conditions do you specialize in treating or enjoy treating the most?

This is a tough one to answer because anytime I can help someone feel better, I'm happy. I have specialized tables that allow me to effectively treat patients with herniations, prolapses, or tears in the discs of their lumbar spine. I've treated this thousands of times by now, and I enjoy seeing patients improve. I like treating hip pain and sciatica for the same reasons. I get great satisfaction in helping patients who have tried other types of treatment without experiencing a complete recovery. I enjoy treating pregnant patients and helping them to avoid developing typical pregnancy-related musculoskeletal symptoms such as sciatica.

How do I choose a chiropractor?

Although chiropractors have similar treatment goals, we offer different adjusting styles and modalities (any treatment besides the adjustment). A good chiropractor offers options to suit the needs and comfort level of each patient. The office atmosphere should be clean, happy, relaxing and professional. Patients should feel comfortable enough to ask questions about their condition or treatment. Your chiropractor should act as part of your healthcare team and be happy to work with your other health practitioners.

Is Chiropractic treatment safe?

Absolutely. Your medical history will be taken followed by an examination. At that point I'll be equipped to assess whether you're an appropriate candidate for chiropractic care. At times, patients should first be seen by their medical doctor prior to receiving chiropractic treatment because certain medical conditions warrant specific precautions regarding the type of chiropractic treatments you'll receive. No matter whether you take a prescribed medication, undergo a medical procedure, or receive chiropractic treatment, there are underlying risks. With chiropractic care, it's imperative that I am cognizant of protecting the sensitive vasculature in the neck. To keep patients as safe as possible, the majority of times I use Activator technique for the cervical spine. It's one of the safest, non-force adjusting styles to treat neck pain and isn't implicated in injuring vasculature. Another factor I must consider with every patient is bone health and whether they have issues with demineralization (osteopenia or osteoporosis). Decreased bone density isn't something only elderly people have; even young, seemingly healthy people could have decreased bone mass.

do you accept insurance (Aetna, Amerihealth, Blue Cross/Blue shield, cigna, Independence Blue cross, or united healthcare)?

I'm happy with the growth my practice has made. At the point in my career, my focus is on doing what I do the best and enjoy the most, which is taking care of patients. I want to spend the majority of my time treating patients and less time doing insurance related tasks. Your level of health affects everything you do and everyone you know, so why not invest in yourself?  If you have a HSA (health savings account) or a FSA (flexible spending account) I will provide  receipts you may submit to your insurer so that any reimbursement/s due will be sent directly to you.
